New CD...

Beautifully Strange

Earlier this month, I went down to Chicago with Jeanne Kuhns and Pat Palmer to begin recording a new CD. Jeannie calls the three of us “Lost Mothra”, and I believe the CD will be titled “Beautifully Strange,” after one of the songs. Our recording engineer is Bruce Roper, one of the members of The Sons Of The Never Wrong, a Chicago-based folk music trio.

We got a lot done on those two days; basic rhythm guitar, bass, and scratch vocal tracks were completed on all 10 songs Jeannie plans to include on the CD. All are her original songs written over the last couple of years.

The weather took a decided downturn on the way home to Sturgeon Bay Friday, March 2nd, and I had a bit of a nail-biting drive from Milwaukee on up; the roads were quite nasty, but I took my sweet time and got home safe and sound.

I’m now in the process of recording lead guitar parts and sending the tracks to Bruce to be added to the mixes. Being my own worst critic, it’s going slowly, but I’ve finished working on two of the songs so far, and I’m quite happy with the results. Jeannie is heading toward adding drums/percussion and other guest instrumentalists to several of the songs, and I think it’s going to be a very nice CD.
