| Music By George George Sawyn, Guitarist |
| Bio |
| I started playing guitar at the age of 12 after 5 years of piano lessons, motivated by good old American peer pressure. After about 2 years of trying to be America's next rock star, I discovered Chet Atkins, and with him, a whole universe of musical styles, including jazz, country, folk, ethnic, and classical music. My other musical influences include jazz guitarists Wes Montgomery and Pat Metheny, jazz pianist Marian McPartland, and classical guitarist John Williams. | ![]() |

I did my first professional playing in 1972, and have since worked
with many of the Chicago area's finest musicians. I am currently a member of Joe Lill's Six of One, which performs at weddings and private functions all over the Chicago
area. I am also one half of Guitar Duo Eclectico, an acoustic guitar duo which
plays jazz, pop, and other improvisational music. Guitar Duo Eclectico released their
first CD in 1998. I have recorded several CDs; Click here to go directly to my CDs page. |
